Henna Design
Henna & Jagua ( pronounced HAAGWAA)
Henna and Jagua are 100% natural plant based, temporary body arts that are rooted in traditional cultural practices.
Henna is an artform stemming from the Silk Road trade routes, while Jagua, also called Huito (WEETOE) is primarily found in the tropics of Central and South America. These ancient plants with longstanding connections to the humans growing alongside them, allow the recipient to receive a temporary blessing to mark rites of passage, assist in healing and transpersonal growth, and simply to adorn or envision a tattoo.
Henna and Jagua both stain on the epidermis of the body.
Info: Designs last an average of 7-10 day WITH CARE, no duration can be guaranteed. If you have any known allergies or sensitivities, please let your artist know beforehand so accommodations can be made.
It's recommended before your appointment date to moisturize regularly and exfoliate gently the day before, and NOT apply lotion or oil the day of. Aftercare instructions are provided at the time of your appt.

Tattoo Consultations are also done via email or zoom, and in person as needed.
Deposit of 50% is due at booking for all services and can only be applied to future dates, should a schedule conflict arise.
1 hour is sufficient for a brief design consult, and 1 full hand, 2 moderate hand designs, simple matching feet designs or a medium to large design elsewhere on the body.

Come treat yourself to a quick and fancy henna design. Wednesdays ONLY from 1-4 pm. Artist choice with your select preference on the hand or forearm ( Winter ).
Allow yourself a few extra minutes to dry/set & shop the boutique!

A half hour of luxury henna design and relaxing beautification. Please reach out to artist prior if you have special design requests, otherwise we will co-create a unique design especially for you in the moment. RECOMMENDED: exfoliate and avoid oils/ lotions before your appointment, and wear loose fitting darker clothing. HENNA needs to stay on for MINIMUM 4-8 HOURS, JAGUA can be removed after 1-2 HOURS.

Pre-drawn and custom designs only, no internet flash or frequently requested "trends". We are happy to refer you to vetted tattooers if your request is not in line with our offerings. No guests please.

Rica
Rica is an artist indigenous to Santa Cruz with a passion for beauty and wellness. An artivist at core, she has sustained a henna practice locally for over 25 years, mentoring numerous artists and cultivating cultural exchange.
An emerging tattooer, she brings her design craft forward in a safe, clean and ceremonial manner, honoring various ancient traditions while acknowledging the uniqueness of the present & current path of the receiver. Her style leans toward botanical and ornamental, with a nod to blackwork, illustrative and dot work.
